Checklist: 10 things you MUST bring to every swim practice

Checklist: 10 things you MUST bring to every swim practice
Table of Contents

With years of experience in the water, we certainly know the feeling at Watery. That's why we've put together this checklist of 10 things you MUST have for every swim training session. So if you're not sure if you're missing something in your swim bag, check out this checklist!

1. Swimwear

Whether you're going to a regular workout or a competition, you won't get far without your swimwear.

If you're training outside, you can also benefit from a training bikini (if you're female) or swimming trunks without legs (if you're male). This way you'll get the least visible tan lines from the sun.

Don't own a training bikini? Check out our colourful selection here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/traenings-bikini

2. Swimming goggles

A good pair of goggles is essential for a great training experience! So make sure you always have a pair (or 2..) in your bag. In addition, we have just received a larger batch of swimming goggles from our most sought-after brand to date; Arena. If you need a new pair of goggles in great quality, we can definitely recommend a pair from this brand!

If you're exercising outdoors, we recommend that you use glasses with dark lenses and a mirror for the best possible protection from the sun's strong rays. This way you avoid both headaches and blurred vision.

3. Swim cap

This may be more important to some than others. But in addition to minimising water resistance from your hair, the shower cap can also protect your hair from unfortunate (green) bleaching from the chlorine molecules in the pool.

On our website you'll find shower caps in all sizes, colours and designs. Maybe there's one that suits you too? ;)

If you're looking for a soft bathing cap in matt rubber at a low price, Watery also has its own bathing cap, which is available in black, navy and pink for a mere DKK 59.95. You can find it here:

4. Drinking bottle

Hydration is incredibly important for how well you can perform in the water and how long you can keep your concentration on the things that make you a better athlete. Therefore, always make sure you have a full water bottle in your bag.

Need a water bottle that's just that little bit cooler than your teammates'? We have lots of colourful water bottles from Arena, Funkita, Funky Trunks and TYR in stock for cheap! You can find them here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/diverse-svommeudstyr

5. Flippers

The majority of swimmers have zoomers, flippers and fins (there are many names for them) as their favourite equipment. That's why it's such a shame to go to training without them!

If you're in the market for new flippers, we at Watery have compiled a Top 5 based on our sales figures for you. You can find the Top 5 for flippers here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/bedste-svommefodder-top-5

6. Snorkel

By using a snorkel, you can focus on your technique and swimming without having to worry about your breathing.

If you need a new snorkel (for hygiene reasons, we recommend that snorkels are replaced and/or boiled regularly), we have a Top 5, which you can find here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/bedste-snorkel-top-5

7. Paddles

Whether you use finger paddles or hand paddles (depending on the size of the paddle), paddles are a great piece of equipment to increase your pressure on the water.

At Watery, we have lots of different variants of both finger paddles and hand paddles, so we might just have what you need in stock!

8. Plade

Many people prefer to perform their "leg workout" using a plate. The plate provides buoyancy for the arm while the legs are working. Depending on size and physique, each individual's needs can vary greatly.

You can find our best-selling swimming boards here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/bedste-sv-mmeplade-top-5

9. Pullboy

Not everyone uses this equipment. But if you need to train your arm stroke or DPS, a pullboy can be a great tool to have in your bag. The pullboy is placed between the legs and provides buoyancy to the lower body during swimming.

If you need a pullboy, you can find our best-selling pullboys here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/bedste-pullboy-top-5

10. Swim nets

You can make things a little easier on yourself by storing your workout gear in a swim net (or mess net). The swim net is large enough to hold all your equipment and has plenty of air holes so your wet gear can dry between workouts.

You can find our many colourful swim nets here: https://www.watery.dk/collections/svommetaske

Of course, there are plenty of other equipment that can be important for you and your workout. But if you have all 10 items from the following checklist, you'll have a great workout in the bank! Watery wishes you all a great workout!
